Anti 1: That’s gross and weird! Rin is a little girl and Sesshoumaru is a grown man. Sesshoumaru is not a lolicon.

Answer: This is the biggest misunderstanding. Yes, you say “Rin IS a little girl.” But we don’t say it’s for NOW and we don’t mean that Rin is a liitle girl when we say about Sess/Rin pairing. We mean a grown up Rin.

Anti 2: Sesshoumaru is like a brother or father figure to her. It’s like she marries her father.

Answer: Honestly, why and how did you see Sesshoumaru as Rin’s father figure? Just because he’s physical older than her and they live together? Because he protected her? Because she admired him? Or even because she calls him “-sama”?
So remember: Inuyasha is way older than Kagome too. And since Shippou is a child too, it doesn’t mean that he’s Inuyasha’s son. Age is just a number here. I don’t get the “father Sesshoumaru” ever. Did he feed her? Did he showed her fatherly caring? Who did she go to when she wanted to talk, to play, to be cared? Not him. All he did for her are saving her sometimes, let her tag along, give her a dragon to ride and play with. What kind of father told his daughter to fend for herself at night, when she’s only 7-8 years old, and send an almost useless servant to look after her? Yah, I know that kind of father, but I don’t think you want to hear about Sesshoumaru like that. ^^” All the fluff scenes are in doujinshi and fanfics, not the real Sess/Rin relationship we’re talking about.

And since I’m an Asian, lived in a “big family” that has many complex relationships under the roof, I know that I can’t and I didn’t see someone as my father figure just because he lived with me, he’s older than me or even he cared for me.
Believe or not, Father/Daughter relationship is much more deep, complex and needs much more affection than you think it be. You can’t easily see anyone as your child and you can’t easily call anyone as your father either.

Anti 3: Its still disgusting to sleep with someone that you knew since she was a little girl and you were an adult all along.

Answer: I can talk about some of diffrences of cultures here, but I think it’ll not make anything better.

You talk about real life’s “experience”. But do you know how many people did that in the real life? If they don’t feel that’s disgusting, why do you feel that? In Sesshoumaru and Rin’s case, like I said before, age is just a number. Sesshoumaru is hundres years old demon. He had seen many people were borned, grown up, and died before his eyes. To him, human is just human, there’s no diffrence between a child and an old woman. To Rin, Sesshoumaru is just a companion, he’s very young. (Remember, his look and mental age is around 19 years old. He’s just a teenage boy). It’s not hard to find some 7-8 years old girls want to marry their teenage idols nowaday, eh? ^^”

Answer: Look up for what I said. Inuyasha is older than Kagome hundres years. Inu no Taisho is older than Izayoi maybe thousand years. Do you find that horrible?

Anti 2: Sesshoumaru will never love a human. He has his pride.

Answer: Sorry, but he loves Rin. If you read the recent manga’s chapter (Chapter 468-471), you’ll have no doubt in his love for her. Whatever kind his love be, he loves a human (and I could say he loves her deeply).

And is his so-call-pride right or wrong? The right pride is you believe in yourself, in your streng, your will to do what you want… With that pride, you can see others as the true self they are, love or hate with your heart. It’s not the blind pride you have in your family’s streng, your family’s origin, your blood, or even your look… Human kind has had enough doom for that. I love Sesshoumaru, but he’d be wrong in his view of world if he has that pride.
